Our Founder's Favorite Natural Beauty Treatments to try Instead of Botox

People often ask me what I think about Botox. In short, I'm not a fan of it (more info on that here).

And while I don't buy into the harmful narrative that all signs of aging are bad or undesirable (aging is something to embrace, not fear!), I'm all about finding ways to boost skin health and overall health in order to age as gracefully as possible.

I've listed some of my favorite natural and health-promoting ways to boost skin vitality below. Each of these treatments (along with a healthy lifestyle, a consistent daily skincare routine and eating nutrient-dense foods) will allow the skin to age gracefully and healthfully.

Facial Gua Sha

Facial Gua Sha is an ancient healing technique rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine that visibly rejuvenates the skin through targeted massage movements using a smooth gemstone tool.

Facial Gua Sha works with the skin to optimize its own reparative functions by promoting lymphatic drainage, calming the nervous system, clearing blockages/buildup and increasing the flow of oxygen + nutrients to create a noticeable difference in the health and appearance of your skin.

Cosmetic Acupuncture

This treatment involves the placement of tiny needles into select areas of the face and body. The needling brings increased Qi and blood flow to the face which stimulates the production of collagen and elastin.

Benefits of Cosmetic Acupuncture include reduced fine lines, improved skin tone, reduced puffiness, detoxification and cellular regeneration.

Herbal Poultice

Herbal Poultice is a restorative treatment that has been used for its medicinal benefits for centuries. A steamed compress of organic healing herbs and specialized massage techniques work together to stimulate circulation, brighten skin tone, activate lymphatic flow and relieve muscular tension to create a glowing complexion and a balanced state of being.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

This targeted massage technique consists of gentle, rhythmic, pumping motions to powerfully support the lymphatic system. This highly specialized treatment strengthens skin tissue, minimizes inflammation, soothes sensitivities, improves the integrity of the skin and has an incredibly calming effect on the nervous system to support deeper healing from within.

Facial Cryotherapy

In a cryotherapy facial, a hose is used to concentrate liquid nitrogen into a pressurized beam of vapor. The vapor passes over the face, neck and scalp, boosting circulation and accelerating collagen production.

This results in a lifted, tightening effect. Cryotherapy Facials are known to reduce the appearance of fine lines, brighten the complexion, reduce pore size, minimize puffiness and reduce redness.
